Does your scrap car qualify for free take-back?

CarTakeBack operates a free take-back service on behalf of it's car maker partners.  This means that in the event that scrap prices fall to a level so low that you would be charged to dispose of your old car, CarTakeBack guarantees to take-back your scrap car free of charge.

If you can answer 'yes' to all of the following questions, then you should not be charged for the disposal of your car when delivered to a CarTakeBack recycling centre which has been approved by the manufacturer of your car when scrap prices are low.

  1. Is your vehicle a car or van (category M1 or N1 of EU directive 92/61/EEC)?

  2. Does your vehicle contain all of its major components including the engine, gearbox, wheels, coachwork and catalytic converter (if originally fitted)?

  3. Is your vehicle free from any additional waste?

  4. Is your vehicle one of the following makes?

Alfa Romeo, Alpine, Aston Martin, Audi, Austin, Austin Healey, Austin Morris, Bentley, Bugatti, Citroen, Colt, Dacia, DAF, Datsun, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Freight Rover, Hillman, Humber, Hyundai, Iveco, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Lancia, Land Rover, LDV, Leyland, Leyland DAF, Lotus, Matra, Mazda, MG, MG X-Power, Mitsubishi, Morris, Nissan, Perodua, Peugeot, Proton, Renault, Renault Trucks, Riley, Rover, Seat, Simca, Singer, Skoda, SsangYong, Sunbeam, Talbot, Tata, Tatra, Triumph, Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial, Volvo or Wolseley.
